Remembering Pearl Harbor

On December 7th, we honor those that fought to defend and those that fell victim to the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.

The USS Arizona was a Navy battleship that represented our great state, and now represents everything we lost on that terrible day.  For those of us at VFW Post 9400 that served in the Navy (and were stationed at Pearl Harbor, HI), it is our duty to carry on and to forever mark Dec. 7th as an important date in our nation’s history.

“On December 7th I attended the dedication of the new WWII Memorial at Wesley Bolin Plaza which has been constructed on the site of the existing memorial to the USS Arizona.  The Auxiliary President and I laid a wreath at the memorial in remembrance of the American servicemen and women at Pearl Harbor.  Our Post was well represented by other members that day as well.  This is also the work of the VFW.”  ~ Doc Nealand, Post Commander 9400
