It is December 18th and we are a week away from one of the most cherished holidays of the year. Hopefully you are sharing the spirit of the season with friends and family, and enjoying the food and festivities that come with it.
There are just a few things to update you on before the end of the year, beginning with an announcement for the Ladies Auxiliary.
Announcement: As of December 2nd, Beth (Weezie) Burrell is the new president of the Ladies Auxiliary –– please join me in congratulating her and supporting the efforts of the auxiliary. You are also encouraged to attend the meeting on January 6th, 2015 and that they need to have all nominations for Junior Vice President, Conductress, and Trustee #3.
Good Times: MOCA is issuing an “Egghead Challenge” to help raise awareness and funds for the Post. The event is December 28th and it should be a lot of fun… and a little messy for one un-lucky contestant. Please contact the post or Bill Talcott for more information.
Wellness Opportunity: The ASU College of Nursing will be offering a free 1-hour class at the VFW post 9400 on colon cancer prevention. The class is part of a study to help ASU understand how helpful a health class and follow up phone calls are in helping people decide to get screened for colon cancer. If you are 50-75 years old and interested in learning about what you can do to lower your chances of developing colon cancer, please contact Health Navigator, Britton Carter, at 602-496-0913 or via email at email@example.com.
As always, if you have any questions or would like to get involved, please stop by VFW Post 9400 or give us a call.
