Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day is a solemn time when we honor our fallen Heroes.   Post 9400 has several events scheduled over the weekend in remembrance

On Memorial Day the VFW, worldwide, solicits donations for veteran programs though it’s Buddy Poppy Drive.  It’s the key fund raising effort of the year. Post members will be stationed at Fry’s Grocery Stores in the north Phoenix area starting Friday morning.  It’s not too late to volunteer a couple of hours.  If interested, contact Bill Talcott at wtalcott@cox.net.  If you can’t contribute your time, stop by a Fry’s store and donate a few dollars and proudly and wear you Buddy Poppy all weekend.

The Post leadership will participate in the Memorial Day Services at the National Cemetery at 23029 North Cave Creek road beginning at 8 AM.  Immediately following at 10 AM, Post leadership will participate in Memorial Day Services at Phoenix Memorial Cemetery 200 West Beardsley.

At 12 noon there will be a flag raising at the Post.  Followed by an OPEN HOUSE with free hot dogs hamburgers with all the fixings.  Don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy some great food and fellowship.

While Memorial Day is a festive one, we encourage everyone to make an effort to show your gratitude by attending one or all of these events
